Sheba ************************************************ There is something magical about water. Something akin to flying in the way it supports you. Some thing akin to massaging in the way it laps at you. Something alike to dreaming in the way it whispers to you. How any cat could dislike water was beyond the Western Queen. She- who often relaxed in the river that was the only water source of their home. She new it's eddies and currents well enough to be thought a great old sailing ship. Sheba moved thorugh the wavelets like a spanish man of war. Her tail was the perfect rudder, her paws, the mighty oars. Her black and white tipped ears, like twin look outs kept a level eye to the banks from which anything might come. Meanwhile her orange-gold orbs watched the waters ahead of her. She knew where to climb out. A patch of shallows were not far from her current position.
The Queen climbed out quickly. The beautiful beast erupted from the cool waters, sending up plumes of spray, and shaking her massive head in the wind she created with her speed. A trot brought her just a stride inland, where she stood letting silver droplets fall over the curves of her sinew strapped limbs and then gather in puddles upon the rocks of the bank. The Queen spied a nearby tree, stark and bear and dead as last night’s prey.
Sheba closed the distance between herself and the plant in a trio of powerful bounds, and then without loosing a bit of speed, clawed savagely up the tree and laid down on a protruding branch. The shards of bark she’d set flying settled below her. She relaxed outwardly, crossing her front legs before her and letting her tail hang down towards the ground. Her orange and black head leaned back and showed her impressive fangs as she yawned to the sky. Then she blinked, owlishly and looked across her Empire as best she could from her vantage point. A part of her was perfectly fine with the life of a loner. And yet the thought of having another cat to talk to appealed to her.
Who knew. Perhaps one would come along.

[/blockquote] The large Siberian padded through the thick brush at the edge of the river, eyes flickering around the landscape. It was very beautiful here, and he was currently tracking his way along the river in an attempt to find Queen Sheba; the ruler of the Western Tribe. His great paws pushed into the mud with every step and his long tail trailed out behind him in the sunlight, shadows casting across his pelt from the gaps and holes in the foliage.
The big cat flicked his ears as he pushed his way through some shrub and came across a female sprawled out across a branch on the opposite bank. From her scent - it was different from another females, tinged with ownership - he could tell this was Queen Sheba. He didn't know how large she was but he could make an educated guess and from all appearances he was larger than her - though this did not mean he wished to issue a challenge. Instead he sat on his haunches at the edge of the opposite bank and bowed his head respectfully.
”Greetings, Queen Sheba. I am new to these lands, and i have sought you out with interests in joining your most noble Tribe.” He met her gaze now, before a smile cut his lips. ”My name is Lucifer, my sister has not quite caught up with me yet but she will arrive shortly i am sure, she too expresses my wish to join you.” With that, Lucifer fell silent and awaited her answer and questions, if she so had any, His tail flicked out behind him as he lowered his head for a moment to take a drink of the cool water, before lifting it once more.

Sheba ********************************* It was with a deserved sense of achievement that the she-line gazed over her empire.....but her thoughts were distracted! Her ear flicked as a warning to the rest of her that something was far off approaching. Something big for that matter. Sheba turned her head. She could see Lucifer navigating through the trees and orange-grey rocks. Here was a bruiser, a male's male, it seemed. If he was here as challenger....Sheba was too cold and controled to let her neck fur rise. Though her eyes burned, the rest of her was calm. If he was a challenger, she would fight him. Great Creator knows... she'd have to use all her wiles just to survive against the mound walking towards her, but that was simple fact. No need to get upset about it.
This was what often unnerved those not used to the queen. She was so calm- even for a cat. Though she was more likely to show sadness than joy, it was rare for her to loudly express either. Rather the tigress, took in the expressions of others and, perhaps selfishly, kept her own reactions to herself. Sheba's tail now flicked back and forth as the male appraoched the far bank. Emotionlessly, the queen took in the males words, but what had threatened to ruin her day was not to be. Instead, this male wanted to join her tribe.
Now, one doesn't get to be a leader, without learning to withhold trust til it's well earned. But Sheba wasn't going to say no either....even if this male's name was Lucifer~. The queen did like having the relaxed high ground, but that was no way to greet another tribe member. Sheba let herself flip sideways, turning in the air to land on all fours. Now, she couldn't compare to this brute across the river, but Sheba was no lightweight. She was tall for her breed's gender, and she was built with muscles woved throughout her seemly body. She strode to the edge of the water with purpose. "I'm honored by your seeking me out from afar." Sheba said nodded her great head ever so slightly. "But I must warn you that the life of a Tribe cat is very different from that of a loner or a pair... cats must be able to depend on oneanother, to trust eachother in times of war and work together without flaw..." She wasn't lecturing him, but she'd be stupid not to be sure that Lucifer understood what he was getting into. An unasked question unhung in the air. ~Do you have what it takes?~
